Hey Terry,
Chill out. I was simply reacting to stories I had read from several news sources I thought were reliable, which told me that cocaine was found in a shipment of Red Bull in Taiwan, AND in a separate event, Red Bull Cola in Germany; nobody’s saying Red Bull and Red Bull Cola are the same thing, if only you had read more carefully. Another thing, even if cocaine is from coca leaf just as MSG is from seaweed and too much of either is harmful to the body but a small amount is totally natural, I would still think that people would want to know if their Red Bull Colas contain a lot of natural cocaine! Because mind you, 0.4µg/L exceeds the legal limit of cocaine in food products in many countries, including Germany, which means the German gov was right to recall Red Bull Cola and that Red Bull Cola ad did make false claims. And everyone was right to make a fuss. As for the Red Bull in Taiwan, I did mention that “at a concentration of 0.03µg/L cocaine would not cause significant harm to the body” and did not attack it any more than it deserved.

Perhaps I could do more research before I conclude on controversial topics such as these, but also I hope in the future when you or any other reader disagree with me, that you take care not to put words in my mouth.

This is a terrible editorial and very misleading. Red Bull and Red Bull Cola are not the same product and any traces of “cocaine” in the cola would be related to the use of the coca leaf (a perfectly natural ingredient). Comments like “liar of an ad” are pointless and baseless.

Let us know when you start your campaign against poppy seed muffins.
